Reduce Sooting: Trim Wick to 1/4" (6.4mm) Avoid Tunneling: Ensure that the entire top layer of wax melts to the edge of the container the first time it is lit. Prevent Breakage: Stop burning when 1/2in of unmelted wax remains, otherwise the glass may crack or shatter.
